Description
Summary:While numerous studies have explored the correlation between corporate governance and firm performance, there is limited research conducted specifically in consumer products and services industry in Malaysia. Therefore, the study’s objective is to examine the effect of corporate governance on financial performance of consumer products and services companies in Malaysia. A sample of 30 consumer products and services companies listed on Bursa Malaysia was chosen. The study covers a period of 10 years from 2012 to 2021. The independent variables employed in this study are board size, frequency of audit committee meetings, and gender diversity, while return on assets (ROA) and return on equity (ROE) were adopted as the dependent variables, representing firm performance. The methods used for the empirical analysis include descriptive statistics, panel data regression, Breusch-Pagan Lagrange Multiplier (LM) test, Hausman test, Pearson Correlation Coefficient and diagnostic test (Heteroscedasticity test, Autocorrelation test & Multicollinearity test)
