A study on the diversity and vertical stratification of Arctiid moths in three different forest types in Sarawak, namely peat swamp forest, lowland forest and kerangas forest were conducted by using Modified Pennsylvanian Light Trap. A total of 966 individuals from 55 species were sampled in this study. The total species and individuals sampled were the highest for the peat swamp forest; followed by lowland forest and kerangas forest. Four Species that are endemic to Borneo, Macotasa biplagella o, Amata cinctelisa ©, Auriculoceryx transitiva and Barsine bornescripta ©' were sampled in this study; while rare species sampled in this study are Darantasia euneiplena and Pseudoscaptia rothschildi o. The Shannon-- Weiner diversity indices (H') were 3.533 for peat swamp forest, 3.425 for lowland forest and 2.610 for kerangas forest. Hence, the Arctiid moth species were the most diverse in peat swamp forest, followed by lowland forest and kerangas forest. For the three study sites, the species in the upperstorey was more diverse than that in the understorey. However, due to the not evenness of the species abundance in the upperstorey, the Shannon-Weiner diversity indices for the upperstorey level of the three forests were lower than that of the understorey level.
