The bottom ash is a waste material obtained from the Municipal Solid Waste Incinerator, Langkawi. To reduce the waste material in this world, reuse is one of the solutions. Therefore, the waste product will not be as harmful as a material or rubbish that can be messed up the world. The bottom ash will be used as partial replacement for cement proportion based on percentage. This bottom ash shows some similar characteristics with the Ordinary Portland Cement that used as the partial replacement in cement ratio of concrete based on the XRF result with similar calcium compound. The proportion of the bottom ash was substitute cement with 10 %, 25 %, 40 %, 55 %, 70 % and 85 %. Slump test usually influence the strength of concrete and from the results showed control sample, 10 %, 25 % and 40 % showed true slump. The 10 % of slump is the best slump that is 62 mm for the true slump. All the proportion needed is to know the optimum strength of the concrete that is only 40 % bottom ash proportion. The higher compressive strength is 10 % showed the 34.98 MPa and 40 % showed the lowest that is 20.56 but still achieved the target for 20 MPa. For the water absorption test showed the 25 % has highest water absorption that means it proportion is the optimum for the water absorption of curing process. For the density test the 10 % proportion of bottom ash showed the higher density means that is the perfect mixing proportion in water curing. For the fire resistance test, the bottom ash is burnt at 500°C to know the resistance of fire that can be handled by the concrete. It shows that the 10 % of bottom ash is the optimum percentage that can be used in concrete mixture to reduce some cost of the cement. From the fire resistance test, the strength of 10 % bottom ash concrete is achieved the target of the optimum percentage compared to other proportion. From this research, it can be concluded that this project is a success and has achieved the objectives. The significant of this project can be seen after obtaining the optimum percentage of bottom ash in concrete mixture. 2021 2022-01-14T03:22:04Z 2022-01-14T03:22:04Z 2015-06 Learning Object http://dspace.unimap.edu.my:80/xmlui/handle/123456789/73382 en Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP)
