With modernity outstanding of technology infrastructure and highly capable by first world countries they are able to produce armour plates with highest quality. Malaysia there still lack in heavy duty press technology that able to compact the metal powder by compressing ability reach 160,000 tonne as there available in the modern countries. Logically this technology will lead the higher cost of manufacturing due to it requires the used of higher consumption energy of production and expertise in handling the process making of it. The reserch aim was to find and create a process of heavy duty press comparable to they are by using exploded compaction (EC) and reduce the manufacturing cost in production of the armour plate. This research objective have being initiated the research were to find compaction inter-layered powder press surpasses 3000 tonne of the plate by EC and analyse the microstructure of properties element of the armour plate after EC has been done to it. There several steps were undergoes in this research which are by applying analysis of Vickers hardness formulation in Brignell Hardness tester machine was used to find out the hardness strength of the armour plate by using comparison of specimen before and after been blast and pattern of microstructure of green product by employing SEM machine . ANSYS AUTODYN was applied to determine an optimal amount of explosive material in order to produce pressure forces surpasses 3000 tonne for obtaining the appropriate parameters during blast test. ANSYS MECHANICAL APDL has been used for performing the simulation towards the mechanical propertise microstructure of the plate that compact by EC. Three parameters had been considered as variable parameters which are amount of Emulax used, pressure forces that will be obtain and microstructures behaviour of the armour plate. The powders of iron, molybdenum and silicon carbide were the material that being use as it containing reliable factors due to previous experimental by researcher have been proved their properties capability. The optimum amount of Emulex have bieng findout in this simulationt was starting from 30 gram and above for achiving the objective. End of this finding, there have being shows that the rising of pressure forces significant factor that influenced the strength of armour plate’s harness by decreasing of cracking of the surface structure and diminution of grain size of microstructure in the experiment result. Futures, this research able be continues in other parameter of pressure forces like 9000 tonne and detailing scope in observing the boundries formation of green procuct of microstructure effect by EC. 2021-02-18T04:31:30Z 2021-02-18T04:31:30Z 2016-06 Learning Object http://dspace.unimap.edu.my:80/xmlui/handle/123456789/69758 en Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) |
