This project is to design a single circular-sized patch antenna which can operate in the range from 2.4 GHz to 2.5 GHz frequency. Since nowadays, RADAR antenna usually developed with a mechanical system, there still face a problem about the mechanical stress problem. So this design tries to develop this application by using electrical system. This system can be steering the beam from 00 to 3600. To develop this system two parasitic element is position on the left and right of the main patch radiator. Additionally, to make the beam steer to right or left, the artificial switch will be added. This artificial switch is copper bridge shorting pin that connect the patch plane to the ground plane. At a particular time, this switch will make one of the parasitic elements become short that lead the beam steers to the other direction. This antenna also is developed from the Taconic material for their substrate. Taconic was selected because has low dielectric constant and can give the best efficiency and large bandwidth. All the simulation design process has been conducted by using CST Studio Suite Software. The single circular-sized patch antenna has simulated gain of 8.357 dB at 2.45 GHz with the beam ability to steer until 70 for both sides of parasitic element. 2016-05-30T08:06:41Z 2016-05-30T08:06:41Z 2015-06 Learning Object http://dspace.unimap.edu.my:80/xmlui/handle/123456789/41762 en Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) School of Computer and Communication Engineering
