Recently, many efforts have been made to develop eco-friendly and high energy efficiency laundry system as the quality of life improves. The existing clothes washers in the market comprises of many complicated mechanical components to create fluid power and movements in the fluid necessary for the washing process. For this project, a new washing process idea is proposed where the mechanical action of the washing process is resulted from the water shot into the washing drum. The lower and upper water flow rotates in opposing direction, creating a squeezing effect on the clothes. The three main parameters of this washing process are water speed, washing time and nozzle angle. Therefore, in this project, the task is to determine the optimum parameter setting that produces the best cleaning performance of the prototype clothes washer that simulates the washing process idea. Comparisons are made between the maximum water speed and maximum washing time. In order to run this testing, the software Design Expert is utilized to design a set of experiments to test the prototype and the result of this experiment will be analyzed using ANOVA (Analysis of Variance). The cleanliness of the washed fabrics from the prototype is compared to the cleanliness of washed fabrics from the conventional clothes washer to determine the cleanliness efficiency of the prototype. It is then determined that this washing process is proven more effective compared to the current washing process by 47%. 2016-03-07T01:42:40Z 2016-03-07T01:42:40Z 2010-04 Learning Object http://dspace.unimap.edu.my:80/xmlui/handle/123456789/40980 en Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) School of Manufacturing Engineering |
