Steel is one of fibres used in fiber reinforced concrete technology. Steel fibres in concrete are help to improves flexural strength and crack resistance. . Today, there are critical shortages of natural resources in present scenario. In this research, a waste concrete is being used to produce the recycled aggregate. The Recycled Coarse Aggregate (RCA) is being partially replaced the natural coarse aggregate (NCA) in concrete to analyze the mechanical properties of steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC). Before start the research, proportional design of RCA is created to compare its effect to the SFRC. Then, methodology planned and several tests will be conducted like slump test, compaction factor test, density analysis, compression test and flexural test. There are 5 batches (A, B, C, D and E) of concrete cube and prism samples which use different proportion of RCA (0%, 25%, 50%, 75% & 100%) and 1.5% volume fraction of steel fiber was added and 1 batch of sample which represented as control sample which use 100% of NCA and 0% volume fraction of steel fiber in concrete was also produced. As a result, control sample was achieved a 27.32 MPa in compression strength and 0.90 MPa for flexural strength while the batch A’s samples managed to achieve 48.60 MPa and 1.10 MPa respectively. On the other hand, the cube and prism samples of all batches (A, B, C, D, E) showed a decreasing strength of compressive strength and flexural strength due to increasing proportion of RCA in the concrete. As a conclusion, there are 4 samples were fully achieve more than 20 MPa of compression strength and optimum flexural strength of the samples were obtained. 2015-12-31T09:24:23Z 2015-12-31T09:24:23Z 2014-06 Learning Object http://dspace.unimap.edu.my:80/xmlui/handle/123456789/40700 en Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) School of Environmental Engineering
