In the era of globalization, the demand for the use of construction materials is greatly increased when looking at the wide usage in construction and rising demand will pose a problem for some of the construction industry. This study focused on the effect of using rice husk ash as a additive material to cement in production of concrete brick, to determine the optimum mix ratio of concrete brick and the compressive strength of concrete brick and also the reduce environment pollution makes one of the factors of this study. This study is to determine the optimum mixture ratio concrete bricks using rice husk ash. There are four types of samples used in this study i.e 0 % as normal concrete and 10 %, 15 % , 20 % is a mixture of rice husk ash. This study uses concrete grade 20 at 1:2:4 (cement, fine and coarse aggregates, rice husk ash ). Curing method was used, curing period is 7, 14, 28 days. Results shows thatmore rice husk ash in a mixture, the stronger the force of compression applied. The compressive strength of concrete been tested at day 7,14, 28 days. Based on the study, the compressive strength of concrete increases as age increases. More rice husk ash in concrete mixtures will lead to concrete compressive higher than normal. Finally, the highest ratio for concrete brick is 20%, where the strentgh is 70 254 MPa on day 28 compared to normal concrete bricks. 2015-12-31T08:18:08Z 2015-12-31T08:18:08Z 2014-06 Learning Object http://dspace.unimap.edu.my:80/xmlui/handle/123456789/40691 en Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) School of Environmental Engineering
