my.unimap-403482015-07-26T04:21:09Z A comparative study on suitable high voltage sources for ozone generation Norhasimah, Zainal Abidin Muhammad Shakir Laili Ozone generation Ozone Ozone generation -- Analysis Access is limited to UniMAP community. This research is about a comparative study on ozone generation via the use of various high voltage sources in various methods to improve efficiency and also focus on the concentration level of ozone generation. Ozone is widely as oxidising agents that can decolourization, elimination of taste and odours, degradation of organics and disinfection. Ozone can be generated by lightning phenomena in nature and it can also be generated from corona discharge from strong electric field. The best methods to generated ozone by using dielectric barrier discharge of a coaxial concentric electrode system with solid dielectric layer. The higher peak voltage that applies on this method is 62 kV in Type IIPa reactors that produce 8400 part per million, ppm of ozone at 50 pulse repetition rates, pps compare the other method. In this research, the concentration of ozone actually can increase with other parameter like the flow rates should be lower during this process, the resident time and temperature must be decreased and lastly the gap discharge and frequency must in increased position. The efficiency of ozone generation can increase when the residence time, temperature and gap discharge must be decreased. All the characteristics actually satisfy for an industrial application that needs more concentration of ozone gas and the higher efficiency of ozone that give reasonable power consumption. 2015-07-26T04:21:09Z 2015-07-26T04:21:09Z 2011-05 Learning Object http://dspace.unimap.edu.my:80/xmlui/handle/123456789/40348 en Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) School of Electrical Systems Engineering |
