J. djthiruvadigal@ph.srmuniv.ac.in Molecular electronics Electronic transport Molecular nanostructure Link to publisher's homepage at http://ijneam.unimap.edu.my/ Theoretical investigation has been performed on the electron transport properties of phenyl based molecules, sandwich between two gold electrodes with symmentric contact. We analysed the influence of the substitute groups such as NO₂, NH₂ and OH, attached to benzene dithiolate molecule, to explore their influence on the transport characteristics to present a current controlled nanodevice. In this paper, nonequilibrium Green's function formalism (NEGF) combined with extended Huckel theory (EHT), a semiempirical approach is used. The results show that the electron donating and withdrawing groups are able to increase and decrease the conductance and thereby control the current. 2015-01-22T06:56:55Z 2015-01-22T06:56:55Z 2010 Article International Journal of Nanoelectronics and Materials, vol. 3 (1), 2010, pages 1-7 1985-5761 (Printed) 1997-4434 (Online) http://dspace.unimap.edu.my:80/xmlui/handle/123456789/38632 en Universiti Malaysia Perlis |
