Description
Summary:A solid phase containing Cyanex 301 was developed by using phase inversion procedure. The extraction of copper ion through this solid phase with the function of pH, weight of the solid phase and temperature were investigated with the help of response surface method. The highest percent of extraction obtained from the raw data is 89.54 %. An optimized condition for the extraction of copper was made up by using design of experiment (DOE). Several statistical methods were applied in analyzing systematically the affect of all the parameters on the yield of extraction. The complete mathematical equation (uncoded unit) for copper extraction also was developed by using the DOE. Solid phase characterized using Fourier Transform Infrared Radiation (FTIR) and morphology study using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) proved the incorporation of Cyanex 301 into the solid phase. Energy Dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis performed shows the immobilization of copper ion into the solid phase.
