This report discussed the solution procedure to obtain the velocity and temperature profiles for the unsteady flow and heat transfer past a semi-infinite stretching sheet. In addition, the effects of Hall current and electrically conducting fluid to these profiles are also considered. First, the involved partial differential equations (PDEs) which are the continuity equation, momentum equation and energy equation are derived and then transformed into ordinary differential equations (ODEs) using similarity transformation. Further, the obtained ODEs are reduced to first order ODE using similarities transformation so that these equations can be solved using the existing FORTRAN program. This existing program is very useful to solve any boundary layer flow and heat transfer problem using numerical method known as Keller-box method. The numerical result obtained for velocity and temperature profiles are then plotted graphically by using MATLAB. Results show that the Hall current and magnetic fields strongly influenced the velocity and temperature profiles obtained. 2013-12-23T08:14:26Z 2013-12-23T08:14:26Z 2012-06-18 Working Paper p. 750 - 756 978-967-5760-11-2 http://hdl.handle.net/123456789/30794 en Proceedings of the The 2nd International Malaysia-Ireland Joint Symposium on Engineering, Science and Business 2012 (IMiEJS2012); Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP)
