There has been vast research enhancing the usage of industrial wastes in engineering applications. This research paper reports the effect of fly ash on the physical and mechanical properties of composite cement. Fly ash was added as a sand replacement material (SRM). Composites were developed based on 20 %, 30 %, 40 % and 60 % of fly as by mixing and curing process. Composites were then cured in water for 7, 14 and 28 days respectively. It was observed that the composite cement with 20 % of fly ash and 80 % of sand demonstrated the highest strength of modulus of rupture and compressive strength. Results for physical testing’s (density, moisture content, water absorption) and mechanical testing (modulus of rupture) are also presented. 2013-12-12T03:19:32Z 2013-12-12T03:19:32Z 2012-06-18 Working Paper p. 552-561 978-967-5760-11-2 http://hdl.handle.net/123456789/30460 en Proceedings of the The 2nd International Malaysia-Ireland Joint Symposium on Engineering, Science and Business 2012 (IMiEJS2012); Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP)
