This research focuses on the application of these sets of new design codes (Eurocode) in the form of spreadsheets from Microsoft Excel for the purpose of analyzing and designing of reinforced concrete elements, mainly beams and column. Basically, the procedures in designing these elements require numerous calculations in order to reach the most desired and economical design. Spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel has the capability of solving problems related to equations and formulas in a short time which makes design calculations and procedures easier. For analysis, this research presents the performance based analysis of RC building frame by using the push over analysis. The computer software, SAP2000 was chosen in this analysis to perform the pushover analysis. SAP2000 was chosen due to its popularity and has been used to analyse. The expected outcome will be the pushover curve and response spectrum that will be followed by the Eurocodes and British Standard. Natural period, base reaction and others result outcomes of the model were calculated and displayed in the SAP2000. The behaviours of the model can be estimated through the graph of pushover curve. The peak responses in displacement and acceleration according to period will be displayed as responses spectrum. Thus, the period at the critical response for the model can be determined. The result also can be together show with the applied moment on the model in order to compare with the moment capacity of the model. This process can determine the performance and capacity of the model under certain seismic load intensity and compare overstrength factor for gravity load design and seismic design frame. 2013-03-06T14:42:33Z 2013-03-06T14:42:33Z 2012-05 Learning Object http://hdl.handle.net/123456789/23951 en Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) School of Environmental Engineering |
