Anodic coating by anodizing in solution consisting of Mg (N03>2 and/or La (N03)3 was conducted to commercial AZ31Mg alloy. Anodic films that formed were analyzed, and the corrosion resistances of the specimens against salt water were investigated. The anti-corrosion properties of the films formed in the electrolyte solutions about five times far exceeded that of the anodic film produced using the DOW17 method.
