A series of biocrudes and chars were prepared from agricultural by-product rice straw. Fixed bed pyrolysis experiments have been conducted on a sample of rice straw to determine the effects of pyrolysis temperature, heating rate and particle size on the pyrolysis product yields and their compositions. The maximum oil yield of 25.3% was obtained at the proper pyrolysis conditions.
