Mohyin ismail.daut@unimap.edu.my Grain-oriented silicon iron Transformer core Flux distribution Power loss Leakage flux Link to publisher's homepage at http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/ In this paper, the result of an investigation on the effect of using M4 Grain-Oriented Silicon Iron core material to the 100kVA three phase distribution transformers has been analyzed. The investigation includes the variation of power loss and flux leakage with 5mm different overlap length with staggered yoke and limb configuration. Both power loss and flux leakage has been measured using no-load test with 15 layer of lamination. The power loss of the transformer model core at the operation mode flux density, 1.5T is 1.079W/Kg.
