Summary: | Triploids are organism with three chromosome sets. They are known to be sterile and easily induced in many species of fish and shellfish. However, suitable and rapid method for triploid identification for large scale production is still limited. This is due to the inability to accurately determine this characterization which currently is determined based on erythrocyte and karyotyping method. The specific objectives of this study were to determine the erythrocyte size, morphometric characteristic and genetic variation in triploid African catfish. |
