These research studies the Tenggerese tribe which is the source of inspiration for the design of a modern contemporary collection.Tenggerese is a Hindu Javanese tribe who lives at the isolated Tengger mountains namely Mount Bromo in East Central Java.They lives by their own values and culture inheriting them from their ancestors for centuries.Their unique culture,lifestyle and the panoramic view of Mount Bromo have inspired this modern contemporary collection.The design and colour selections are inspired from the identity of the tribe itself.A variety of technique in the development of a collection inspired from Tenggerese tribe.The vast usage of earthy colour tones represents friendliness,simplicity,casualty,wealth and free spirited ness suits the modern society.The vast usage and significance of batik sarong in the daily activities of the tribe has inspired the development of modern contemporary design for the young adult market of unique persona,a gypsy at heart and dare to be different.
