Description
Summary:The study was carried at Agropark Univeriti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) Jeli Campus, Kelantan to determine the effect of different fertigation techniques on growth and yield of Broccoli variety Green Dome 307. Seeds were sown in seedling trays for drip irrigation meanwhile in Jiffy- 7 for autopot system. Seedlings of broccoli were transplanted under netted rain shelter when 4 true leaves were developed after 4 weeks in nursery. The growth performance and yield parameters were taken which were;number of leaves, plant height, diameter of leaves and fresh weight of broccoli. All the data were recorded five days after transplanting under netted rain shelter for both treatments. Broccoli plants for Treatment 2 (drip irrigation) produced more and longer leaves, taller plant height and maximum yield as compared to Treatment 1 (autopot system). Result on various parameters showed that maximum growth rate and yield was obtained by planting broccoli Green Dome 307 by using drip irrigation, T2. The growth and yield parameters were significant influenced (p≤0.05) by using two different fertigation techniques. Hence, it is recommended for general cultivation of fertigated broccoli under netted rain shelter by using drip irrigation system.
