Forty-eight 14 days old Japanese quail were weighed and distributed randomly to 4 treatments with 3 replicates (4 birds in each replicate) in each treatment as T1 (without CO), T2 (2% CO), T3 (3% CO) and T4 (5% CO) in commercial quail diet from 14 days until 42 days of age. Water and feed were provided ad libitum. The results revealed significant (P<0.05) improve in body weight, growth rate, feed consumption and narrowest feed conversion ratio (FCR) as the dietary level increase indicate improve in growth performance of the Japanese quail of the supplemented quails (2%, 3% and 5% CO). Fat deposition in abdominal fat pad (AFAT) and crude fat (CFAT) content of thigh meat was altered by added coconut oil in diet. The abdominal fat pad weigh and crude fat content was significantly higher (P<0.05, 0.0217 ± 0.00, 14.46 ± 0.00 for AFAT and CAFT, respectively) in T4 (5% CO in commercial quail diet) than control group. It was thus, concluded from the results of the current study indicate that dietary level coconut oil can be used in commercial quail diet up to 5% coconut oil increasing body weight and growth rate with narrow feed consumption and feed conversion without any negative impacts on performance of the birds.
