The objective of this research is to detect the presence of the fecal coliform and Escherichia coli contained in the B. areolata flesh. Coliform bacteria are a large group of bacteria including the fecal coliform that occur naturally in the intestines of wann- blooded .E. coli is an example of fecal coliform that can be found in the environment, contaminated food and in the intestines. In this research, the presence of fecal colifoim was detected with the Most Probable Number (MPN) of coliform was at 7.4 indicate that the B. areolata flesh was safe for consumption while through IMViC test result, the (+ + - -) pattern obtained indicate the presence of E. coli. However, there were also other bacteria present in the sample such as Klebsiella sp. and Enterobacter aerogenas. 2016 Undergraduate Final Project Report NonPeerReviewed Norhaliza Shahari (2016) Study on the presence of fecal coliform and Escherichia coli in Babylonia areolata.
