The main objective of this study is to make a checklist of mammals species in Jeli forest follow by indentifying the species diversity of mammals. In order to accomplish the goals, some methods were applied. The methods used for this study were camera-trap installation, trap, ecological and social survey. More than twelve species were detected in the study area and some of the species highlighted as endangered species. Tapirus indicus or Tapir Malaya was found at this area and should be conserve as soon as possible. From the study analysis, some factors that contribute to lower number of mammals found are illegal deforestation and poaching. Jeli Permanent Forest Reserve still have rare species means endangered species declared by IUCN. The species going to extinct slowly as increasing in anthropogenic pressure. The regulation from Act 716 very strict to the offenders but less in suppression by responsible agencies. Enactment of regulation should apply properly at conservation site to ensure the quality of conservation and avoid any negligence. Reserved forest now is not safe again because too many anthropogenic pressure that effect more to the wildlife. 2015 Undergraduate Final Project Report NonPeerReviewed Saiful Anuar Zulkurnain (2015) Species diversity and mammals' conservation status in Jeli permanent forest reserve and Agropark University Malaysia Kelantan, Kelantan.
