Description
Summary:The importance of groundwater have trigger many research to be done on the subject. Most of the study is focusing in the identifying a good site for groundwater exploration. This research is focusing in the demarcation of groundwater potential tones using Geographical Information System ((HS) around the Ayer Lanas, Jeli ,Kelantan area. The study areas lies between latitude 5°45' 45" N to 5° 4ti. 48' 15" N. and longitude of 101°56 0" E. Based on satellite imageries, topographical, geomorphological, and hydrological data, the potential tones are demarcated in hard rock areas around the Ayer Lanas area. For this purpose. the map thematic layer such as lithology, lineament density, drainage density, land use, and slope was generated using GIS application to generate the groundwater potential tones. The final map that produced. will identify the groundwater potential tones in the study area .The map classify the potential of groundwater potential in the area into 5 category' that is very poor. poor. medium, good. and very good. The area with high potential according to the map is place where there is a high density of lineament zones in the area.
