Description
Summary:In vitro callus induction from embryo matured seeds of Oryza sativa variety MR219 was studied in this research. Observations on callus induction were carried out on N6 media which were supplemented with eight different combination of plant growth regulator at different levels; 2,4-D (1.0 mg/I, 2.0 o, 3.0 in mg/I and 0.5 mg/I). The callus frequency varied from 37% to 88.89% mg/l) each different media. From the conducted experiment, the combination of hormone 0.5 mg/I BAP and 2.0 mg /I 2,4-D was found to be the best media for callus induction and was having the largest size (mm) and highest weight (g). This study will be useful for selecting an appropriate callus induction medium with efficient protocols for callus induction experiment.
