Description
Summary:This research was conducted to isolate of fungus from the banana rhizosphere was to find the possible candidate to control Ralstonia solanacearum by using dual culture technique. The aim of the study was to identify the fungus isolated from healthy banana plant's rhizosphere in the infected area by Moko disease. Isolation of the R. solanacearum was done by collecting soil sample and plant parts. Eight sample were collected include four healthy soil of banana, four plant parts of healthy banana, four infected soil of banana and four infected banana plant parts and isolated of bacteria was succeeded using CPG medium. Total ten species of unidentified fungus had isolated using PDA medium and among all the isolated fungus, only four unidentified fungus can inhibit the growth of bacteria in dual technique. Unidentified funguses then were examined for characterization and identification. The variables used in this study were morphological characters, observe and reverse of colour. Microscopic characteristics of the fungal isolates were examined using an optical microscope. Based on colony morphology, there are four types of fungus had been identified which are Trichoderma sp., Penicillium sp., Aspergillus sp. and Phellinus noxius. As well as the results of this research have demonstrated that plant rhizosphere contain fungus that can against the bacteria causes Moko disease among banana plant.
