Within the tourism industry, tourism product such as homestay program (rural/agro-tourism) is seen to have great prospect despite the potential of agriculture land development in Malaysia. Homestay program offers the opportunity for tourists to stay with their local community experiencing the local lifestyle and local culture of the community in addition with farm visiting. In Malaysia, there are many villages that are successfully engaged in homestay programs, however, research on the level of tourist satisfaction and tourist experience on homestay programs are limited. In addition, the prospect and the demand of homestay are still unknown, whether it brings significant impact to the economy and social to the community. Hence, this study discusses on the general preview of tourism and agriculture in homestay, the opportunities and barriers of agro tourism development in Kelantan, the contribution towards socio-economy improvement of local communities, and the factors affecting tourist satisfactions. The data collected through survey method using questionnaire distribution to the tourist, and direct interaction/interviews with 40 local people and the owner of the homestay, as well as Tourism director. The data are descriptively and statistically analyzed using SWOT Analysis, and quantitative statistical method, such as correlation and regression. The results revealed that service and price offered give highly significant result, brings significant impact to economic development and social situation of the village.
