Description
Summary:This study had been conducted in determining the water quality of waste water from food based factories in Kota Bharu with the appliance of parameter physic-chemical of water and Water Quality Index (WQI). Three factories had been selected for the research and three replication been conducted in ensuring accuracy of data. In-situ parameters that had been determined in this research are temperature, dissolved oxygen (DO) and pH. Other parameters that needed to be analyzed at lab are Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Ammonia Nitrogen (NH₃₋N), Phosphate (PO₄³ˉ), Nitrates (NO₃ˉ) and Turbidity. ANOVA one-way analysis been used in getting accurate and reliable data to be convert into useful reading and conclusions that can answer the research objective well with the significance value (p:0.00, p<0.05) in average for Station 2 get the maximum value of 86.12, which is class II due to the proper treatment been given for treating the waste water. While, for Station 3 got the minimum value of 63.05 (class III) followed by Station 1 at WQI value of 64.09 (class III). This research will explain all the details on the experiments and data analysis in determining value of WQI for each of station that involved.
