Summary:Forestry and logging industry is the second dangerous industry after manufacturing industry. Analysis of major accidents in forestry sector in Malaysia was conducted. The objectives were to determine the frequencies of accidents occurred and the trend of accidents in forestry sector in Malaysia between the year of 2010 to 2017. The secondary data were obtain from Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) and various newspaper report. There were 149 cases per year (2010-2017) reported in the forestry sector in Malaysia. Meanwhile, the average rate of accidents of death, non-permanent disability and permanent disability were 11 cases, 141 cases and 5 cases per year respectively. Based on the report, the trend of the accidents shows a decreasing pattern. However, the accidents frequency still give a significant impact in the frequency pattern as the rate only decrease by 1% from each consecutive years. Mostly accidents in forestry sector occurred because of lack in knowledge about the safety at workplace among the workers and work safety at workplace was not well implemented.
