Description
Summary:The study area for this research is located around the University Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) Jeli campus. The main objectives of the study were to produce an updated geological map of the study area in scale of 1: 25,000, to identify the groundwater potential locations using resistivity method to fulfill the clean water requirements for future use even the resources may not sufficient. The geomorphology, lithology and geological structure done through the application of geological mapping. There were three lithologic unit that identified in the study area which composed of the gneiss, metamorphic rock type unit from the Taku schist Formation followed by metasedimentary rock which composed of Phyllite from the Telong Formation, and granite intrusion in Triassic Period. The area mostly composed of the weathered granitic rock. The Schlumberger electrode configuration arrays with sixty one electrode spread 400 meters were used through five survey line and data was recorded by using ABEM Terrameter SAS 4000. The two-dimensional (2D) resistivity had produced with provide a clear of resistivity image model section that indicated the groundwater potential with a certain depth in fractured zone of granitic bedrock and also considered as secondary porosity shown in survey line 3, line 4 and line 5.
