Description
Summary:In this study, freshwater algae were selected as one of primitive commercially that emerging on algae species. The study had been done that the freshwater algae able to produce high yield up to 60% (w/w) of oil recovery. This study had established its strong capability for the production of algae oil. The essential freshwater algae is cultured by used the Detmer’S media that had been modified act as a medium nutrient for the growth of algae .These study is to investigate the effect of different extraction method which are soxhlet and ultrasonic extraction method by using ethanol 70% as a solvent . Other than that, this study is also studied about the parameter that affect the algae growth which is light intensity. The GC-MS analysis revealed all the sample has saturated and poly-unsaturated fatty acid. All the type of fatty acid is suitable for the biodiesel production but it need further studied. The best extraction method is via soxhlet extraction where it produce more fatty acid than the ultrasonic extraction.
