Summary: | This study aims to examine an existing syllabus of a Business English course taken by business diploma students at a private college located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The participants comprise 22 business diploma students and five lecturers, including an ESP lecturer and subject matter lecturers. A series of procedures, primarily survey questionnaire, classroom observation and semi-structured interviews were employed to collect information from the participants. This study investigated various aspects of a needs analysis approach in analyzing the ESP course and recommending changes for improvement. It is hoped that the findings of this study will help the educators to better comprehend factors that facilitate and/or constrain business communication. |
