An inestigation in mechanical properties and workability of lightweight concrete with various percentages of scoria instead of sand
In this paper the mechanical properties and workability of different Lightweight concrete made with 0, 35 ~ 50, 55 ~70, 100 percents of scoria instead of sand and different water - cement ratios and cement contents has been studied. This percentage has been result with testing from Lightweight morta...

Summary: | In this paper the mechanical properties and workability of different Lightweight concrete made with 0, 35 ~ 50, 55 ~70, 100 percents of scoria instead of sand and different water - cement ratios and cement contents has been studied. This percentage has been result with testing from Lightweight mortar made with 0, 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 percents of Scoria instead of sand. The result indicate that with (55 ~ 70) percent of scoria instead of sand in the mix, an acceptable mechanical strength and low density can be obtained. Also due to larger water absorption of scoria, the concretes made with different percentages of scoria need Larger Water-cement ratio for suitable work ability. |
