Description
Summary:A phenomenological model for studying the polarization and phase transition of the ferroelectric superlattice is developed within the framework of Landau-Ginzburg theory. The interface energy which accounts for the interface intermixing effect and the electrostatic coupling are incorporated into the model. We use the BaTiO3/SrTiO3 superlattices as a model system to examine its phase transitions behaviour. The profiles of polarization and internal electric field are calculated to study the ferroelectric properties. The influence of the periodic thickness ratio on ferroelectric superlattices is also investigated.
