Summary:The Philosophy of the Arts course is designed to introduce the students to analyzing and thinking about the arts, and learning to approach the arts academically. The course aims to develop fundamental concepts and ideas of art such as aesthetics, institutionalization/commercialization, different traditions and approaches to art. The purpose of the course is to expose students to a broad spectrum of the arts — reading, analyzing, interpreting and appreciating the arts. Students will be required to critically think, engage and apply theoretical approaches in their analyses of art.
