Summary:A roof is a constructive sub-assembly superstructure located at the top of a building that must meet resistance requirement to mechanical action, fire resistance, acoustical and themrnlly insulating, durability, waterproofing, economy and aesthetics. There are various types of roof such as shed, mansard, flat etc. However, this report will discuss the construction of the flat roof in residential apartments that nonnally used in Malaysia. It is conducted at Batu Kawan, Seberang Perai, Penang for two blocks of 18-storey serviced apartments under Paramount Construction (PG) Sdn Bhd as the main contractor. The main objective of the report is to describe the flat roofing system that must meet the standard requirement together with the method of construction, number of manpower and machinery used on site.
