Description
Summary:The planning of the small bus terminals are represented by its level of effectiveness and quality in providing the services to meet the needs of both the bus operators and the bus users. A study towards the planning and implementation of this system is needed for the terminal’s success. With respect to the needs of the passengers, an observation was done to determine the requirements and perception needed to the system. In this study, the main focus is to identify the implication that will have on implementing the system in order to achieve the objectives of this study. The effectiveness of the system will contribute to the reduction of congestion and will promote the efficiency of services which will satisfy the passengers’ requirement and which will give more benefits to the bus operators. It is important in such a way as to determine the most productive and fastest way into the city centre and vice-versa. Therefore the services of the terminals should be identified as it will reflect the effectiveness and the efficiency of the terminals to the passengers and operators. The first chapter of this thesis will highlight on the background of study, the problems faced, the objectives, the scope and limitation and also the methodology that will be used throughout the thesis. The second chapter will highlight about the characteristics of the public transportation system of Kuala Lumpur. The writer would discuss about the stage bus, minibus and the existing terminals. In chapter three, the writer will discuss about the Bus Zoning System. It will cover on how the zoning works and how it will supplement the proposed terminals.
