Summary:This study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the use of video and text books to understand the learning of science among pupils from Year 5 at SK Sampadi Lundu Sarawak. The research methodology is based on the pre-test and post-test and a questionnaire was conducted on 20 respondents were selected among pupils from Year 5. The results showed that the academic performance of pupils through lessons using video instead of using textbooks only. The study also found through this method can foster the interest and enthusiasm of pupils to explore a subject in depth yet. The results also showed a significant difference between pupils who use video and pupils use textbooks in understanding and learning of pupils in science. Based on the findings, some suggestions were made as to encourage the use of video exposure should be given to science teachers when they was still in college training level.
