According to Local Government Act 1971 of Malaysia, there are three types of local government in Malaysia. In example, city councils, municipal councils and district councils. The local governments that administrating a city can be called as City Council that also known as “Majlis Bandaraya”. However, there also local authorities City Hall that also known as “Dewan Bandaraya” such as Kuala Lumpur City Hall, Kota Kinabalu City Hall and Kuching North City Hall. In addition, Pasir Gudang City Council had received the city status on 22nd November 2020 where it was the newest City Council formed in Malaysia.
