Description
Summary:This module are focused at revitalising the development and understanding of an individual artistic practice in ceramic art. This includes practical and conceptual explorations of practice and artefact: planning, building, analysing firings, surveying technical, cultural and critical horizons through research projects, material practice, processes and visual language. A more comprehensive experiments will be conducted in exploring ideas through materials and processes, surface treatments and glaze (colours) making. A series of lectures on specific subjects will be given throughout the semester including group and individual critic sessions in studio practice. Students will give concentration on their own individual projects until completion. At the end of the semester student will present (display and oral presentation) their complete art work for the degree exhibition and assessments will be made individually by internal and external assessors.
