Summary:This course provides students the understanding of the principles of pattern drafting and garment making, through theoretical and practical work. Students are to learn the fundamentals of clothing structure (the pattern) and assembly processes, through the flat pattern method. General principles of pattern making are applied using bodice, sleeve, and trouser and skirt blocks. Students will understand the roles and importance of pattern structures and types when transferring ideas from 2D into 3D. Students will be able to explore on how to create form, through cutting and joining shapes in order to develop creative and original fashion design
