Summary: | In Malaysia, the population of Malayan tigers is declining and extinct. Loss of habitat and food sources due to logging activities, forest invasion and transmission of the canine distemper virus caused the animal known as the king of the jungle to become increasingly extinct. So, I gave the artwork title because I was concerned about the extinct Malayan tiger in Malaysia and my interest in my homeland, football. The artwork was also inspired by Malaysian Fine artist Ramlan Abdullah whose artwork is called Running Forest. In this artwork, there was a collaboration between Malaysia and Indonesia. The tiger stripes that I applied to this artwork are symbolic of Harimau Malaya, and the material I used is pine wood that I took in Indonesia. The collaboration happens between the tiger stripes and the material. |
