Panasonic Malaysia Sdn Bhd is a company that focusing on variety type of product. There are exactly 8 category of product that the company produce. Starting with TV & AV, Air Solutions, Home Appliances, Kitchen Appliances, Beauty and Health Care, Camera & Camcorder, Phone, Fax & Video Intercom, and Battery & Torchlight. In this study, I was given an opportunity to do analysis on this company that manufactured the same product that I interested to develop. Even though this company have many types of product, I would like to focusing on rice cooker product by their company. The product that I want to develop is SMART IH Rice Cooker which has many compartments that make it easier for the career woman. Besides that, I have done the analysis on the product which is rice cooker in order to determine their strength, weakness, opportunities also threat. Based on SWOT analysis, there are four majors’ weaknesses which are strong competition with other rice cooker product, manufacturing cost is high, time consuming and not user-friendly product. These disadvantages give me idea to produce new product to overcome these issues. I propose to do the innovations on the rice cooker with 4 compartment that can do all the process such as cooking, steaming and baking. If the product is successful to produce, it would be a one-of-a-kind product in the industries with such features.
