Summary: | The artwork is inspired from the blooming of red cabbage where when the season comes, the red cabbage will bloom like flowers. The colour choice comes from the red cabbage itself as a source where it was extracted and turned into a range of natural colouring. Red cabbage contains anthocyanin that effects the change of colour when mixed with acid or alkaline. The materials used for this series of artworks are completely natural, with variety of yarns creating variations of colour. The design is focused on the combination of technique and multi sized yarns to construct motifs and show depth in the composition. The artwork highlights the linear textures of the red cabbage. |
