Description
Summary:The purpose of this course is to understand the principles and philosophies of art and children`s development. Course lectures, assignments and individual and group activities are designed to assist students in developing a basic knowledge of the study of art from the perspective of the artist, the art historian, the art critic, and the aesthetician. It includes the educational philosophies of theories and how they relate to the teaching of art and artistic learning on the classroom, the students artistic development, art media and instructional strategies. The teacher`s role in planning developmentally appropriate creative arts curriculum will be emphasized throughout the course. Students will have opportunities to design, implement, and participate in various creative arts projects.
