Summary:Conventional agriculture systems of production often lead to environmental degradation, economic problems and even social conflict. The efficacy of agriculture systems conducive to the economic, environmental and social sustainability of farming operations has been demonstrated, yet the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices is not widespread. This paper presents a research study to analyze the sustainable practices among farmers in Batu Pahat, Johor. Hence, the purpose of this paper is to analyze factors that contribute farmers not complying with sustainable agriculture practices. Thus, determine the relationship between influenced factors of knowledge, training, behaviour, and economic with sustainable practices among farmers in Batu Pahat, Johor. The population size of this study is 187 farmers in Batu Pahat. The structured questionnaires were distributed to 126 farmers based on Raosoft sample size calculator. All of the data were collected through distribution of questionnaires to the respondents and analyze it by using SPSS software. Majority (73.8%) of the farmers have their education level until secondary school. Through the survey that has been carried out, the strong positive correlation relationship among independent variables are training (0.681). While, behaviour (0.458) and knowledge (0.362) with moderate positive correlation. The low positive correlation relationship is economic (0.179). The most dominant factor that contribute farmer not complying sustainable practices is training (β= .407). Most of farmers is lack of training to comply with sustainable practices. The finding from this research can help farmers and also new generation of farmers to comply with sustainable practices. Thus, this research can give a guideline for farmers to perform sustainable practices in their farm to becoming developing countries in agriculture.
