Summary:This preliminary study present on analyzing the effect of music on brainwave signal data particularly on nasyid music and rock music focusing on alpha wave. This research involves 30 samples of Faculty of Electrical Engineering, UiTM student aging "18-27" years old and sample will be interviewed before being tested with EEG. Using EEG, the brainwave signal of the sample will be captured twice, one before listening to the music and while listening to the music. Then the results of brainwave's signals were analyzed and the comparison between these two music genres was discussed. In conclusion, listening to nasyid music has relaxing property compare to rock music on frontal muscle.
