Description
Summary:in order to study the effect of different rate of EM on growth performance of rice, an experiment was carried out in greenhouse UiTM Jasin in complete randomized design (CRD) based on 4replications. The objective of this study is to compare the effects of EM towards the plant height, tiller and yield and to determine the best rate of EM concentration and effect towards the rice. The variety of rice used is MR219 and the different rate of EM were applied in 3 different amount of concentration 1.1 x l 09cfu. 3.3 x 109cfu. 5.5 x 109 cfu and the rice without effective microorganism (EM) was served as control. Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) are used to analyze the data collected. Dilute solutions of effective microorganism (EM) had a beneficial effect on all measured parameters such as number of tiller, plant height and number of grain per panicle. The height and its components were showed significant difference between the treatments. The maximum plant growth was noted in plant treated with 5.5xl09 cfu concentration of EM that showthe excellent of growth performance of rice with the highest mean value of number of grain per panicle (115). From this study the treatment of effective microorganism was proved in boosting a better performance of paddy crop.
