Summary:The purpose of this study is to explore about the women in building surveyor profession in Malaysia. This study will identify three objective where it is to explore the industry player’s perspective of women working as building surveying in Malaysia, to identify the reasons for the lack of women entering the building surveying profession as a career in Malaysia and to suggest ways to improve women number’s in building surveyor profession. Building surveying profession in Malaysia have particularly low participation rate of women's participation. At present there are 95 thousand qualified surveyor, but only 10 percent are women. Malaysia statistics, from 4928 members of the Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (ISM), there are 1,500 women surveyor but only 570 from them are building surveyors. It shows that the participation of women in this profession is still low. A questionnaire were distributed to 60 respondents that focused on private company and local authorities, women working in the construction department and female graduate students in building surveying courses in order to achieve the objective of this study. But, only 50 respondent that give a feedback. After the collecting data, the data will be analyze using statically package for social science (SPSS) and Microsoft excel. The analysis will be perform by the pie chart or bar graph and show the frequency, percentage and mean value. This data analysis is to ensure the objective are achieved. Conclusion, from the analysis done, the main reason the lack of women entering building surveyor profession is women refuse traveling long distance or long periods away from home. This study also will suggests the way to improve the numbers of women in this profesion.
