Summary:The rising incidents of criminal such an increasing concern in the neighbourhood of Bandar Saujana Utama. The problems related to the issue are spreading in every corner of the area, whether from rich or poor housing areas. This problem is indeed important in the selection of areas to settle either in the short or long term. The purpose in this study is to investigate the effectiveness of crime prevention through access control design for the neighborhood area towards the safety living in Bandar Saujana Utama, Sungai Buloh Selangor. The access control approaches has emphasized as the main solution to overcome the issue during the study period. Faced with this problem, various methods have been used in the study in order to get the best output. Qualitative and quantitative methods have been selected in the source of data to analyze and obtain the views of the residents in the study area. By using the frequency analysis through descriptive statistics in SPSS software, it give the output from the study in the way of residents agree to implement the access control approach to against the crime of house breaking and robbery to get an improved neighborhood . In the meantime, ideas and suggestions by residents of the study area have also been considered as support for access control to be stronger. The compact proximity to the access control approaches was found to serve as the greatest security design for neighborhood to prevent crime and make the area occupable by residents for long period of time. This study definitively answers the question regarding effectiveness of access control in crime prevention. Here for the last, the further studies are needed to keep maintain on the safety level of neighbourhood.
